Hamilton's Family

Hamilton is co-owed between the McNamara's and Sam Rose Danes, Sam Rose.

Hamilton is the stud dog for Sam Rose Danes under the title of "La Vie En Rose" which is passed on to any offspring of Hamilton, as his AKC name is "Kandi Kain's RHGD Xavier La Vie En Rose".

Hamilton was bred in Tennesee, by Tammy Stalnecker of Kandi Kain Danes.

Hamilton is the offspring of a Mantle x Harlequin breeding:

Tammy did a wonderful job of setting up Hamilton's transport with us, as well as communicating with us frequently about how he was doing. She was instrumental in providing early photos and videos for us- which we will forever appreciate!

Rhoden Dane's Jaguar. (Sire)

Jag has correct conformation, excelling in head type, bone substance, solid topline, correct bite, beautiful front, an outstanding temperament & exceptional pedigree! He is 35" tall, has tons of substance and a head piece to die for! Jag is OFA hip Prelim/OFA Cardiac Normal & DNA profile with AKC. His sire & dam are OFA certified & OFA Prelim with Normal results also.

Hamilton's Godfather: Sam Rose, raises Great Danes in Southwestern Colorado.  He currently owns two dane females (Mantle) from championship lines;  Maisie and Cleo.

At one point Mr. Rose had four danes:  Lola, Maya, Maisie and Cleo;  three generations as Lola was the dam for Maya, and Maya the dam for Maisie and Cleo. (all four seen last winter at left)

Mr. Rose has been instrumental in the selection and acquisition of Hamilton for Rosedanes and McNamara co-ownership and profound appreciation is given for his expertise and care.

Hamilton's pedigree....

Hamilton is a pure-bred Great Dane. I can trace his bloodline back several generations and see what dogs he is bred from....and how they did in the show or breeding forums.

His bloodline is filled with big, long, impressive names, and many of them with titles.

I will be posting links so you can trace Hamilton's pedigree back quite a ways, and you will see "CH" and "BISS" and things like "Am CH= American Champion" and "FRA CH= French Champion" which means his line has gone international and won championships against dogs from around the world.

Why is this important?

1. Ethical breeding. Breeders that are careful about their lines result in healthier and stronger genetics for the pups. In-breeding, or breeding generations too close together (son to grandmother) result in many of the problems that plague purebreds and give them a bad name.

2. Quality of the line. Hamilton's great-grandmother lived to 12. The average life span of a Great Dane, and most giant breeds, is 7-8 years. Some, due to poor breeding practices, even less. The better the line, the better the dog.

3. Knowing your dog, from the DNA out. Personality and temperament are passed down. Knowing your line helps you decide what your dog may have for a temperament in the future.
